Dear Sandbergers!
Hereby the mail that explains how you can publish a mail online!
The fast introduction:
- You publish a mail on the website by adding the tag to a mail you sent to the department’s mailinglist – designers@sandberg.nl
- You can add metadata so that your mail – or project description for instance – ends up in the archive. Great for future generations!
- You can advertise your exhibition, performance or other important things in the agenda-bar!
Follow the guidelines noted below for more detailed tagging. You can also see this information on the help-page in the info section of the website.
If things go wrong than please read the guidelines noted below before you contact me. There are some things that might prevent a mail from getting published which are easily overcomeable.
We see this period as a test-drive period. In about two months we will evaluate how the website is being used and will re-evaluate things. So your comments are welcome!
I really hope that you guys will use this website too! Please think of it as your tool too. The mission statement on the website explains how it is meant. Please share conferences, links, ideas and projects on the site! Use it as your personal space!

TO PUBLISH A POST ON THE WEBSITE:
- You publish a mail on the website by adding the tag to a mail you send to the department’s mailinglist – designers@sandberg.nl
- You must add a subject-line AND content to the mail
- You can only send an email from your emailadress that is connected to the mailinglist (otherwise everyone could spam the site)
- You have to be registered as a user on the website with the exact same emailadress
- You have to send it to the correct emailadress – in this case designers@sandberg.nl
- Don’t use extensive html in your mail, since it is a website this might inflict with the website
To add metadata, there are three different types of meta information that can be linked to an e-mail: project, topic and type.:
- “Project” links your mail to a specific project, such as Eurovision3000 or Open Impact Channel (example).
- “Type” is the physical manifestation of the project, such as Website or Booklet(example).
To put your announcement in the agenda-bar:
- Give your mail this tag and it will appear in the agenda sidebar on the left.
EXAMPLE MAIL:
Dear friends and colleagues,
This is an example e-mail for the Sandberg system. This mail is linked to project “Hello world”, it’s about topic “Testing”, and its type is “E-mail”.
This mail will
- be published on the website
- be filed under the topic testing
- be filed under email
- appear in the agenda-bar
YOUR BIOGRAPHY ONLINE!
HOW DOES IT WORK:
- send an email with your bio to the mailinglist and incorporate these tags:
- Your bio will appear automatically (after 5 minutes) in your identity kit in the People section.
TIPS FOR MAKING YOUR BIO:
- you can make your bio as long or short as you wish, a text or no text – it is up to you.
- don’t forget to include your website or links to projects you have done
- portrait is optional
- other details such as more contact details are again up to you
