Dear all,
I'm organizing a trip to Belgium on January 27th 2011. We will be visiting the Francis Alÿs exhibition at Wiels (http://www.wiels.org) in Brussels and the S.M.A.K. (http://www.smak.be) in Gent to see the James Ensor exhibition. S.M.A.K. also shows work of Loek Grootjans; he is a guest tutor at the Fine Arts department and he can arrange a guided tour through the exhibition. If we can make it, we will also check out the Verbeeke Foundation. Jetske can introduce us to the director, which is a nice opportunity to get to know this interesting institute.
This excursion is open to all departments and it's a nice opportunity to spend a day together and get to know each other a little better.
The Sandberg will pay the travel-costs and guided tours; the entrance fee has to be paid by yourself.
If you want to join the excursion, please let me know as soon as possible. Sign in on the New Marjo (http://www.sandberg.nl/thenewmarjo/), or sign in on the list that is deposited in the office of the Fine Arts department. You can also find a catalogue of Francis Alÿs exhibition at the office.
We will leave early in the morning and come back late in the evening. I will try to organize a bus with driver: That will depend on how many people come along. The alternative is to drive ourselves with a rented car or van. Departure time and place will be announced soon.
Questions or other suggestions are welcome.
Sincerely,
Ina Marie
