"Atmoaesthetics 2" by Wiebke Grieshop

This worksession invites into the making process of the publication Atmoaesthetics 2: Affective Atmospheres of the Aesthetic Coding of Policing. All pages – images and texts – are treated as tools for reflection within an ongoing process of visual negotiation. The sequencing of images, the relation between content and form, and the logic of order are left deliberately open. This gesture seeks to interrupt dominant visual regimes, question the structuring force of design, and activate reflection on the aesthetics of control.

This activation is about shifting perspective: it opens the visual regime of the book to disruption. Binding becomes an act of reflection – on how visual orders are produced, how authority is shaped through design, and how meaning is conditioned by form. Each copy emerges as a temporary constellation, shaped by multiple perceptions, contingent arrangements, and the spatial context of its surroundings.
