Biography
Nica Roses is a multidisciplinary artist working across performance, installation, sound, and text. Their practice explores intimacy, addiction, queer desire, and the spectacle of emotional collapse. With a background in dance and an affinity for ritual, they use the body as both a site of exposure and resistance-often navigating the spaces between pleasure and exhaustion, care and control.
Desire Reigns IV: The Storefront Body A performance installation
What does it mean to give yourself without disappearing? What does it mean to perform care, sell desire, offer presence-and still remain? Desire Reigns IV places the artist at the intersection of sex work, care work, and artistic labor-three economies of intimacy that run on contradictory myths: that care is selfless, that desire is abundant, and that art is made from passion, not need.
