artist statement
To Vårtun the objects are not mere things to be possessed. Girls night out
Body and gender related issues continue to play part in Vårtun's (NO) work. Toying with the ideas of the massage and the manicure, she appropriates this imagery for a feministic discourse. She belueves that the freedom of women is not something to be taken for granted, and especially not in times like these
