Ludovic Hadjeras+
“Algerian-French artist Ludovic Hadjeras goes on an identity quest by embodying the spirit of wolves. Expanding from writer Baptiste Morizot—who describes werewolves as diplomatic figures, navigating between wolves and humans—Hadjeras metaphorically puts on the skin of the werewolf and starts shapeshifting, becoming his hybrid identity: of being French-Algerian Métis. This quest is an attempt at getting closer to his Algerian heritage—who were colonised by France in 1830—and as a way of getting closer to a conversation with and about animals, history, and land.”
