I’m a Latvian/Russian visual artist + writer, who is currently based in The Hague, The Netherlands.
My research/artistic practice revolves around language/s as a performative and material matter, while thinking with/along/about oral history, emotional economies, body narratives, and different shapes of violence from a position of somewhere undefined in/between East and West.
A performance of a river that passes through the spine - a carrier and bodily archive of desire, un/forgetting language, and non/belonging. The work is a part of an ongoing research project on emotional accumulation within sugary, sweet, and honeyed objects that passes through/along/with the post-soviet body.
