In the musical documentary 'Black Butterflies, or: The Ballad of Jonny Toxic & Jacco Macho', Jonathan Hielkema & Jacopo Planet take their alter-egos on a journey through Italy and Holland. As is often the case on a journey, the route and events are uncertain. Yet it was evident that masculinity was on the map. Italy, land of machos, Holland, land of miserly Calvinists - what do they have in common and how do these relate to Jonny Toxic and Jacco Macho? Well, they still had to find out. It was clear, however, that both men liked to go off on an impromptu basis; they were tired of all the theory and social reverberations. Instead of researching, thinking, and preparing, they just went out and found the perfect antidote to toxic masculinity: reclaim and celebrate their masculinity.
Take your seat and watch this antidote to toxic masculinity.
