“In his often-poetic films, Meijman addresses themes of friendship, youth, nostalgia, urban resistance, and collectivism. He explores the genre of auto-ethnography as a vehicle and a strategy for staging subjectivities and challenging the notion of home. Being part of the squatting collective Mokum Kraakt and co-founder of Radio Voorwaarts, his activist stance against the housing crisis cannot be separated from his work. However, he specifically chose to use a more auto-ethnographical approach for his film, reflecting the never-ending desire for a communal space.
