Artifacts

Starting from mundane images found online, I isolated objects made of or associated with oil, avoiding direct depiction of the resource itself. The drawings are executed in pencil using precise vertical lines, with no expressive variation. Small initial drawings were repeatedly enlarged through photocopying and then redrawn by hand, layering mechanical and manual translation. Through extraction, enlargement, and repetition, details shift in scale and legibility. The series builds through accumulation, allowing these ordinary forms to persist, distort, and reappear across multiple iterations.
