Organisation

Beyond its departments and as part of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Sandberg Instituut is home to a constellation of platforms, initiatives, and facilities that students can benefit from both during and after their studies. These are permanent pillars within the institution that function as shared resources for research, experiment, and creative support across disciplines.

Internal Affairs

Gerrit Rietveld Academie strives to create an inclusive, accessible, and sustainable educational environment, and supports inter-curricular platforms across Rietveld Academie and Sandberg Instituut dedicated to supporting and advancing these shared ambitions. Below, find resources, policies, and frameworks outlining what the institution stands for and how it aims to achieve these goals.

Student Initiatives

These are student-organised projects, platforms, or collectives developed by students to create space for experimentation, dialogue, or community-building beyond the formal curriculum. These initiatives often emerge from shared interests or urgent cultural or social questions and contribute to the institute’s interdisciplinary environment. Learn more about our active initiatives below and explore past projects in our archive.
