Power Station (Jiyeh)
Working with images of the Jiyyeh power plant aftermath, I focus on the traces of violence that remain in the landscape. The painting and wall drawing echo one another but fragment the image in distinct ways: one preserves a material fragment, the other fades over time. Together, they reflect on how memory and documentation diverge, and how the repetition of an image erodes rather than confirms its meaning, leaving traces long after their immediate visibility. Detached from its original context, the image has become an echo, an afterimage of an event already mediated and consumed.
