How much space does a human need?
This seemingly simple question runs through architecture, philosophy, and society alike. In a world shaped by dense cities, housing shortages, and individualised lifestyles, it’s more urgent than ever. While reduction is marketed as a lifestyle in neoliberal tiny-house concepts, the fundamental question of what is truly necessary often remains unanswered and is obscured by aesthetics.

The room is the result of self-research on space consumption. The room measures 2 meters by 1.62 meters and idealises the idea that, in a private room, only things necessary for private use belong, and everything else can be collectivised. The 1:1 research took place over five days as part of a bachelor's thesis at the Peter Behrens School of Arts.
