Current Student Basil Linder (Critical Studies, 2026–2028) warmly invites you to the launch event of EXT 8000, the debut typeface of Express Type, a foundry run by Linder and Tobias Bolliger (Bollo), based between Amsterdam and Bern.
Inspired by the rave culture of the 1990s, the typeface is modular, loud, and fast—a typographic reminiscence of techno music. EXT 8000 is released as a single Ultra Expanded Black cut.
The accompanying specimen goes beyond functional type presentation: An interview with Büro Destruct alongside archival flyer material and an essay by music journalist Benedikt Sartorius offer insight into the research. At its center stands Roggwil, the small Bernese village that became a destination for legendary megaraves between 1993 and 2001.
