Amy Suo Wu

Amy Suo Wu is a designer, artist, and educator born in China, raised in Sydney, and based in Rotterdam. Her recent practice circles around literal and metaphorical approaches of mending, design as remittance and self-fulfilling prophecy, and how text and textile might be woven together to form embodied publishing. Her previous body of work on steganographic practices as acts of protection, survival, and resistance in the face of oppression and violence is now published under the title A Cookbook of Invisible Writing through Onomatopee. As an educator, she has taught at the Piet Zwart Institute, Sandberg Instituut, Willem de Kooning Academy, and Rietveld Academie, contributing research, mentoring, and collaborative skills to every project. Wu has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Van Abbemuseum Eindhoven, Wereldmuseum Rotterdam and Artspace Sydney. She co-founded the Zine Camp festival (2014–2019) and co-ran the experimental design studio Eyesberg (2013–2016). She is a recipient of the Talent Development Grant from Creative Industries Fund NL and has completed residencies in Berlin, Arnhem, and Beijing.
