Stone 8

Material is a stabilized and capitalized state of matter, a brief moment within a significantly longer process. In this context, matter encompasses not only what is considered architecturally valuable but also residues, dust, fragments, and waste. Material thus appears as a temporary state within a continuous cycle of extraction, use, and transformation.

1. Collect a few stones. Don’t overthink it. Choose spontaneously.
2. Reduce your selection by half.
3. Start searching again.
4. Compare the newly found stones with the remaining ones. Keep only the ones that appeal to you the most.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you feel that you don’t want to part with any of the stones.
