hand-blown glass, alchool, artificial essences

The work consists of a series of hand blown glass bottles that reproduce the designs of particularly popular brands. The bottles rest deformed on the ground, with sharp openings that abruptly alter their shape, letting the perfume they contain leak out.

Inside each one, the perfume contained is a replica of the smell of cleaning products used inside train stations, airports, or shopping malls.

The name of the series recalls dupes (short for duplicates), the unofficial reproductions of luxury perfumes, extremely popular on social media, that allow access to the same fragrance at a lower price.

The duplication in this case no longer serves to counterfeit the luxury perfume, but to replicate and re present the industrial, standardized, and anonymous smell used in public spaces, transit places, and commercial areas.
