The Danish Institute in Damascus
For three weeks in Cairo, we built furniture using wood and clay from the Nile, demostrating how practical, low-tech solutions can improve indoor climate. The benefits of using unfired clay are numerous, including its recyclability in projects of all scales, its ability to absorb and release moisture, and the minimal thermal energy required for the hardening process. The project was developed with Laura B. Wilkens from The Royal Academy in Copenhagen and generously supported by The Danish Institute in Damascus.
