TOTAL is a trilogy that investigates different states of attention in listening at the limits of sonic materiality through three acoustic situations.

In TOTAL 1, five musicians located in the Port of Barcelona performed a composition intended to be heard from the Marina viewpoint, which is located on the seaside slope of the Montjuïc Castle, approximately 500 metres away.

The composition was developed through an acoustic study of the port’s ambient noise, as well as through research on the Venturi effect —the way in which wind coming from the sea, when colliding with the mountain, propagates sound, alters its timbre and determines its volume— conducted by the artist in collaboration with meteorologist Jeroni Lorente.
