Lianne Y. Smit (China/ The Netherlands, 2003) is a multidisciplinary artist focused on video, performance, and language. Through her artistic practice, Lianne aims to understand how people navigate situations that are difficult to articulate, repeat or process. She captures and reinterprets everyday life, to dissect how we digest personal experiences such as loss, grief and  a sense of belonging. By using scores as a foundation for video and performance, Lianne aims for connection in these recognizable but fleeting moments of everyday life.
